Module 3: Daily Monitoring Routine
Do this every day. It takes 5-10 minutes.
The Daily Checklist
- 1 Open your bookmarked campaign view
- 2 Check Today's leads and cost per lead for each campaign
- 3 Switch to Last 7 Days — is the trend acceptable?
- 4 For any concerning campaigns, click Breakdown > Time > Day to see day-by-day performance
- 5 Calculate your portfolio average cost per lead (total spend / total leads across all campaigns)
- 6 Decide for each campaign: keep running / monitor closely / pause and duplicate
- 7 If duplicating: update the date in the campaign name, set start time to 1-2 AM, publish
The Portfolio Approach
Do not evaluate individual campaigns in isolation. Calculate the blended average across all active campaigns:
Total spend / Total leads = Blended CPL
Example:
Campaign A$17/lead
Campaign B$29/lead
Campaign C$15/lead
Blended average$20/lead — acceptable
A low-CPL campaign effectively subsidizes a higher-CPL one. One expensive campaign is not a crisis if the overall average is within your target.
